The entrance hall of the Bežigrad Library serves as a transitional space and the entry point to the library. The new design incorporates three spatial elements: a freestanding upholstered bench with stools for waiting and reading materials from the antiquarian section, a new library desk that clearly delineates the area for borrowing and returning items, and a volume with reserved bookshelves that embraces an existing structural column.
The library desk is designed in a modular manner, allowing for the future addition of book vending machines. The division between individual modules conceals vertical rhythms on the facades of the gray furniture. The color and material scheme revolve around a uniform PVC flooring, which unifies and brightens the space. It is complemented by light gray furniture and natural wood, creating a harmonious combination.
